Karnataka unit of Janata Party, led by its President Shri Ashok Navalagund, today merged with the BJP today. Navalagund and 22 leaders of the party, including actor Shri Ramakrishna, were welcomed into the BJP by the state unit President Shri D V Sadananda Gowda, in the presence of senior party leaders shri M Venkaiah Naidu, Chief Minister Shri B S Yeddyurappa,  and Shri Ananth Kumar.

Navalagund said they decided to join BJP, impressed with the achievements of the Yeddyurappa government in the State.
