Karnataka BJP Government to hold 2nd global investors meet in June 2012:

The Karnataka BJP Government is expecting investments to the tune of Rs 6 lakh crore in the proposed global investors meet (GIM) in June this year. Shri D.V. Sadananda Gowda, announced that the second GIM would be conducted in Bangalore on June 7^th and 8^th.

The first GIM, which was conducted in June 2010, had attracted investment of around Rs 5 lakh crore, and 387 MoUs (memorandum of understanding) with regard to investments in Karnataka were signed then. Of them, 288 projects were taken up for implementation and 89 of those projects have reached final stages of implementation.

The Chief Minister assured the investors that the State Government is ready to extend all help to investors to invest in the State.

He also mentioned that Karnataka is overtaking Gujarat in terms of industrial development. Conversion of MoUs, which were signed during the first GIM, into actual projects is around 60 per cent. However, this was only 17 per cent in Gujarat.
