More funds for health programmes in new budget

Hubli, Jan 17 (PTI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today said he would allocate more funds for health programmes in the 2010-11 budget as he was desired seeing state’s six crore people hale and hearty.

Speaking at a health check up camp, he said it was the state government’s responsibility to provide good health at reasonable and cheap rates at all government hospitals, particularly to people living below poverty line.

His government had released Rs 40 crores for heart patients in the state from the Chief Minister’s Relief fund soon after coming to power, he said.

Medical, education, health, housing and irrigation and development are the top priority areas of the BJP government.

He said he would try to convert this state as model state for others. People in rural area were suffering from health problems which would be attended to, he said.
